FUND HEALTHCARE NOT WARFARE
This session, facilitated by ACT UP activist Dan Glass, is part of the growing “Fund Healthcare Not Warfare” movement. From New York to London or Berlin, queer, healthcare and anti-war activists are uniting to demand a permanent ceasefire and an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. Whilst our government’s military budget drastically increases, services to healthcare continue to be precarious. This is in tandem with the relentless politicization and assaults on trans and reproductive healthcare and the growing housing crisis. Join us for a session of films and idea-sharing that delves into the legendary Radical AIDS Activist Group ACT UP toolkit to understand how to inject some creative joy into your initiatives for social justice and continue spreading freedom from WHOLE to Palestine when we get home.
Facilitator: Dan Glass is an ACT UP healthcare and human rights activist, performer, presenter and writer, and Qassem Massri is a Palestinian medical doctor (in the field of neonatology, pediatric cardiology and intensive care) and activist.
