PHIJOS

Phijos is the alias of Philippus Johan, the smart-casual creative from Cape Town. An essential player in the country’s underground music and queer nightlife scene, he has helped set up several key cultural drivers, including The Other Radio, The Other Records, SWIM, Search Festival and The Death of Glitter. Confident in the broad musical palette he has developed over the years (picked up from the very spaces he helped create), Phijos mashes up genres together, like bass, italo, jungle, R&B, breaks, bounce, pop edits, house and techno to raucous effect.
